Official Yerevan is expanding cooperation with Western partners on security issues, and this has caused concern in Moscow.
Information about the holding of joint Armenian-American military exercises on the territory of Armenia is causing concern. This is what Kremlin speaker Dmitry Peskov said at a briefing on Wednesday, September 6.
“According to the exercises… Of course, such news causes concern, especially in the current situation. So we will deeply study this news and monitor the situation,” he said in response to questions from journalists.
Earlier on Wednesday, it became known that the Eagle Partner-2023 joint exercises with the Americans will be held in Armenia in September. They will take place on the basis of the training center of the peacekeeping brigade of the Armenian Defense Ministry Zar.
Armenia also said that being in the CSTO “creates problems.” Official Yerevan began to talk about the importance of cooperation with Western security partners. The other day, Armenia summoned its representative to the CSTO.
