Radio Liberty published pictures from the Planet service for September 3 and 5.
There is no span in the first picture, but there is already in the second.
The attack on 17 July was the second attempt to damage the bridge. It resulted in damage to the road lanes of the crossing.
A Ukrainian maritime drone delivered approximately 850 kg of explosives to the bridge’s concrete abutment.
The SBU provided CNN with two CCTV videos showing the moment one drone struck the road section of the bridge, and then about 5 minutes later another strike on the railway section from the opposite direction.
The head of the SBU claimed responsibility for the first attack on the Crimean bridge on October 8, but did not provide details of the operation.
On October 8, 2023, an explosion occurred on the Crimean bridge. The traffic on the bridge was blocked due to the destroyed part of the roadway.
Since the beginning of July, many kilometers of traffic jams have been recorded on the Krymsky Bridge almost every morning.
On July 17, explosions occurred on the bridge connecting Russia with the occupied peninsula. One section of the bridge was destroyed, another one was damaged.
After the explosions on the bridge, the Russian government extended the timeline for its restoration until December 31, 2023.
On August 3, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Aleksey Danilov on the air of the national telethon “United News” said that the SBU participated in both strikes on the Crimean bridge – in October and July of this year.
