Citizens of Ukraine have access to free vaccination against coronavirus until the end of 2023 and during 2024.
Vaccination against coronavirus infection in Ukraine may be made mandatory for citizens from risk groups. This was announced on Tuesday, September 5, by Chief State Sanitary Doctor Igor Kuzin, writes Ukrinform.
“The world is currently evaluating those recommendations related to holding vaccination sessions. The final and final decision on what type of vaccination against the coronavirus infection should be included in the vaccination schedules or recommended should be made public in global level at the end of November, when the European group meeting on vaccination,” explained Kuzin.
He noted that after the publication of these global recommendations, the National Immunization Expert Group will develop an algorithm for including vaccination against coronavirus infection in the national vaccination schedule.
Kuzin noted that some “risk groups” of people who will need to undergo mandatory vaccination against COVID have already been formalized at the ministry level:
-
medical workers,
-
high-risk groups, including people over 60 years of age,
-
individuals with an immunocompromised state,
-
children with serious associated non-communicable diseases.
“These are the risk groups, in the case of coronovirus disease, regardless of the strain, with a high risk of a serious course of disease or death,” said the state health doctor.
He recalled that vaccination in Ukraine is free. The coronavirus diagnostics are also free.
“PCR diagnostics are also free at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention level,” he said.
Also, according to him, Ukraine has the necessary equipment to identify strains of the virus.
Recall that in Ukraine on July 1, the quarantine and the emergency situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic that lasted for 1193 days ended.
As the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko said earlier, the coronavirus disease has not disappeared, but is gradually becoming ordinary seasonal diseases.
