In the field of security, relying on or attaching to a center is a strategic mistake, said Nikol Pashinyan.

Armenia’s reliance on Russia for security is a strategic mistake. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this, reports Armeniatoday referring to La Repubblica on Sunday, September 3.

“Armenia’s security architecture is 99.999% connected with Russia, including in the area of obtaining weapons and ammunition. But now, when Russia needs weapons and ammunition, it is clear that even if it wants, the Armenia’s Russian Federation needs security,” he said.

According to Pashinyan, this example should show that in the field of security, relying on or attaching to a center is a strategic mistake in itself.

“And only after we tasted the bitter consequences of this mistake after the fact, we are making many attempts to diversify our security policy,” the prime minister emphasized.

Earlier, Pashinyan said that Russia is moving away from the Caucasus and is not fulfilling its obligations to control the Lachin corridor that connects Armenia with Nagorno-Karabakh.
