At the same time, Alexander Lukashenko presented a condition for the transfer of Ukrainian grain in the form of opening ports for Belarusian goods.
The formal leader of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko spoke on the phone with UN Secretary General António Guterres. During the negotiations, they discussed the issue of grain exports from the territory of Ukraine, Lukashenka’s press service reported on Friday, June 3.
He said that Belarus is ready to supply Ukrainian grain to the ports of the Baltic countries through the country’s territory. Minsk is also ready to provide all kinds of assistance for its transshipment by Belarusian rail transport, allocating the necessary capacity for it.
“At the same time, the main thing, as indicated in the conversation, is that these ports (Germany, Poland, Baltic countries, Russia) are also open for Belarusian goods. That is, by creation of conditions for the transit of Ukrainian grain, to the ports that will transfer, there was an opportunity to send goods from Belarus, “the message said.
In turn, Guterres requested “a short pause of a few days” to talk to the leadership of the countries concerned and determine the conditions for the supply of Ukrainian grain to international markets through Belarus.
It was learned yesterday that Turkey has prepared a roadmap that will help ensure the export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea. It is expected that representatives of the UN, Ukraine, Turkey and the aggressor country Russia will discuss it in the near future.
Today, the Kremlin has officially confirmed that grain export negotiations should be held in Istanbul.
