The occupying army of Russia has switched to a new tactic to stop the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye region. There they set fire to the minefields.

    .

It is reported by The New York Times.

The invaders are pouring flammable substances into the territories where the minefields are located. When attempting to clear mines, the occupiers drop grenades from drones, “causing a sea of fire and explosions.” According to Ukrainian marines, the Russian positions are fortified with minefields and trenches. Therefore, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are forced to fight for every house.

At the same time, hundreds of small assault groups were the driving force behind the counteroffensive. Most often they are eight to ten soldiers. Each of these groups has separate specific tasks: to attack trenches, forest belts or houses.

It is a difficult way to wage war, village by village, house by house, with no guarantee of success. However, the surviving Russian fortifications serve as a base for Ukrainians to plan their next step.

Recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine fired more than 10 settlements in Zaporozhye and Donetsk regions. Recently, Ukrainian fighters de-occupied a settlement in the Zaporozhye region.
