Ukraine’s post-war recovery will be long, and its economic needs are enormous, according to the Danish government.
The Danish government proposes to increase aid for Ukraine’s civil needs by almost 300 million euros – from 1.2 to 1.5 billion Danish kroner next year. This was announced on Friday, September 1 by the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The government’s top priority is to help Ukraine and the Ukrainian people. That’s why this year we are once again allocating a record-breaking amount to civilian efforts so that we can continue to provide essential support and assistance in overcoming the severe consequences of war,” the Minister for Development Cooperation and Global Climate Change said.politician Dan Jorgensen.
He emphasized that the restoration of Ukraine will be long, and the needs of the country after the war are enormous.
Announcing the financial aid, Jorgensen said that Denmark will help restore the city of Nikolaev and is already taking the first steps for it.
“In Nikolaev, Denmark is helping to provide better access to water and heat, as well as restoring and repairing residential areas, schools and medical facilities,” he said.
The Foreign Ministry responded to the decision of the Danish government and said that the funds received will be used to provide emergency aid to war victims, as well as to restore the most important infrastructure in Ukraine.
