The South Korean government has announced a sharp increase in financial aid to Ukraine – up to $394 million for 2024. This was reported by Reuters on Tuesday, August 29.
“According to South Korea’s budget for 2024, the aid package covers 130 billion won (over $98 million – ed.) for reconstruction, 260 billion won (over $196 million – ed.) for humanitarian aid and another 130 billion won (over $98 million – ed.) ed.) through international organizations,” the report said.
The agency recalls that in July, the President of South Korea, Yoon Seok-yeol, announced that his “country will provide a large amount of military supplies this year,” but at the same time he did not go into details.
Recall that last year South Korea allocated $100 million to support Ukraine, this year this support will reach $150 million, Yun Seok Yol said during a visit to Kiev in July of this year.
