Ukrenergo called the simultaneous presence of imports and exports in the energy system a normal market phenomenon.
Ukraine was able to export electricity to Europe in conditions of peak electricity consumption in hot weather. This was reported by Ukrenergo on Monday, August 28.
“Yesterday, during the hours of the day from 10:00 to 14:00, exports were carried out from Ukraine to Slovakia with a total volume of 200 MWh, up to 50 MW in some hours, and from Ukraine to Moldova with a total volume of 4 MWh, up to 2 MW in some hours. hours,” the statement said.
At the same time, yesterday Ukraine was importing from Slovakia and Moldova from 14:00 to 23:00, with a total volume of 3,300 MWh, up to 350 MWh at certain times.
Today, electricity is also imported from Slovakia from 16:00 to 24:00. The maximum power in individual hours is 336 MW. No exports.
At the same time, Ukrenergo called the simultaneous presence of imports and exports in the energy system a normal market phenomenon: “At night, consumption in Ukraine reached the daily maximum and the energy system, due to the reduction in its own capacity. The power plants, recovering after the missile attack and preparing for the heating season, need to import electricity from Europe.
Today in Ukraine, consumption continues to remain at the highest level in the summer. On August 27, the maximum consumption at night was 4% lower than the summer record on August 21 and 0.6% lower than the previous Sunday.
“It’s still a lot for the power system, given the limited capacity of power plants to generate electricity due to damage and repairs,” said power engineers.
Remember that energy consumption in Ukraine is now at its highest level in the summer. The country has been drawing emergency aid from the power grids of Romania and Poland for three days in a row.
Earlier, Ukraine recorded a new record of electricity consumption for the weekend. Protective action cut high voltage lines in Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Chernihiv regions.
