In addition to Andrei Pilshchikov (Dzhus), Vyacheslav Minka and Sergei Prokazin also died. All of them were pilots of the 40th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Center Air Command. During Russia’s full-scale aggression, each of them was involved in air operations to protect Ukraine, including tactical missions in the Eastern and Zaporozhye directions. This was reported by the tactical aviation brigade of the city of Vasilkov.
Major Vyacheslav Minko lived in the Kyiv region. He again sat at the helm in 2015, after the Russian aggression in the Donbas and the occupation of Crimea. With the start of a full-scale invasion, there were over 200 flying hours. He was an experienced brigade pilot, technically trained. He knew different types of aircraft, devoted a significant part of his service to instructors.
Major Sergei Prokazin lived in the Poltava region. For aviation, he devoted 24 years, went from a pilot to a deputy brigade commander. Since 2022, there have been over 100 hours of combat flights. According to his brothers, he was sincere and ready to help in difficult situations.
Captain Andrey Pilshchikov with the call sign Juice is from Kharkov. He has spent eight years in aviation and has over 500 flying hours since the start of the full-scale Russian invasion. He performed combat missions in difficult conditions, received a number of state and departmental awards.
He was courageous, principled, uncompromising, always defended his own opinion to the end, actively spoke in Western media, in particular, on the issue of providing Ukraine with modern F-16 aircraft, the brigade noted.
