The speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said that pilot Andrei Pilshchikov, with the call sign Juice, who died in a plane crash in the Zhytomyr region, dreamed of F-16 aircraft in the Ukrainian sky and was an excellent communicator with Western allies.

Juice told me everything in the world about aviation and anti-aircraft missiles, wrote thousands of messages to instant messengers. It’s strange, but I somehow got used to his captious remarks. How now without it? – Ignat wrote on Facebook
According to him, Andrei Pilshchikov was not just a pilot, but he was a young officer with “mega knowledge and mega talent.”
He was an excellent communicator, he was an engine of reform in the Air Force aviation, a participant in many projects. I often supported his crazy ideas, which gave an incredible result! Major Andrey Pilshchikov devoted his short but very bright life to military aviation, he dreamed of F-16s in the Ukrainian sky! And he did a great job on this issue,” says Ignat.
A year ago in the US, Pilshchikov met with US officials, talked about the Air Force’s urgent needs, was constantly in touch with Californian pilots, and was the main driver of an advocacy group to promote many decisions on the F-16.
Melania Podolyak, a well-known volunteer, wrote a poignant post about her beloved, combat pilot Pilshchikov, who died in a plane crash in the Zhytomyr region.
Recall that three Ukrainian pilots died as a result of a collision of two combat training aircraft L-39.
We are sad to announce that on August 25, 2023, a terrible plane crash occurred in the Zhytomyr region. During the performance of a combat mission, the crews of two L-39 combat training aircraft collided in the sky, the PS said.
Pilshchikov was a MiG-29 fighter pilot and participated in the air defense of Kyiv. In an interview with Western media, he called on partners to provide Ukraine with modern fighters.
