Tehran is ready to supply drones of its own production after satisfying the “domestic” market, the Iranians said.
Several European countries are said to want to acquire Iranian drones. This was announced on Saturday, August 26, by the representative of the Iranian Ministry of Defense, Brigadier General Reza Talay-Nik, writes Mehr News Agency.
“Our drones have many customers and many countries are asking to buy drones from us. Now we have received several requests from Western and European countries, although they do not want to be named,” he said. .
He also noted that the “range” of drones in Iran is greater than commonly known. Also, according to him, Iran is interested in how and for what its drones will be used.
“If we do not have political and security considerations regarding a particular country, and we are confident that this drone will not be misused, and also considering domestic demand, we are ready to export drone that is in the export portfolio,” – he declared.
The representative of the department added that none of the previously concluded contracts for the export of drones to other countries have been cancelled.
“Regarding previous exchanges with countries like Russia, none of them have been removed,” he said.
Earlier, Iran sent Mohajer-6 drones to Russia. These are multi-purpose drones capable of returning to base after being hit.
And in July, Iran introduced a new version of the Shaheeds. The improved device was named Shahed-149. It seems that he can stay in the air for more than 35 hours and overcome 7 thousand km in one mission.
