According to media reports, citing sources, Oslo decided to donate F-16s to Ukraine, but the number was not specified. In total, the country is armed with 57 such fighters.
Thus, Norway will become the third NATO country after the Netherlands and Denmark, which provides Ukraine with F-16 combat aircraft.
Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stere is on an official visit to Kyiv, the channel adds.
The United States recently approved the transfer of F-16 fighter jets from Denmark and the Netherlands to Ukraine. National Security Adviser to the President of the United States Jake Sullivan said that Ukraine will receive the planes after the completion of pilot training.
Recall that the Netherlands should provide Ukraine with 42 fighters, and Denmark another 19. At the same time, Ukraine will receive the first group of F-16 fighters from Denmark before the New Year.
Ukrainian pilots have already begun training on F-16 fighter jets in Denmark.
