The aviation coalition now has 14 countries, and their number is gradually increasing, the OP said.
Three European countries have confirmed their readiness to provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets. This is what President Volodymyr Zelensky said at a joint press conference with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stere in Kyiv on Thursday, June 24.
“We have three countries that have agreed to move to Ukraine after the F-16 training – Denmark, the Netherlands, Norway. We are very grateful to these three states,” Zelensky said.
He thanked the head of the Norwegian government for such an “important and historic” decision.
Zelensky also expressed his gratitude to the United States, because the F-16 aircraft is American technology. And when asked if F-16 aircraft are supplied to Ukraine, the president said: “It is difficult to talk about the quantity. I think one should be grateful for any quantity. Few? Let’s see.”
In turn, the head of the Office of the President, Andriy Yermak, said in an interview for DW that the aviation coalition now has 14 countries and “their number is increasing almost weekly.”
Earlier, the media reported that Norway agreed to transfer F-16 aircraft to Ukraine. In total, this country has 57 fighters, which were decommissioned at the beginning of 2022.
It was also learned today that Norway will help Ukraine with missiles for the German IRIS-T air defense systems.
