As the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on August 24, the defenders of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the Bakhmut and Melitopol directions.
In the direction of Novodanilovka and Novoprokopovka, they were successful, they consolidated on the achieved lines, inflicted fire damage with artillery on the identified enemy targets, and carried out counter-battery measures, the report says.
In the Bakhmut direction, the Defense Forces are conducting offensive operations south of the city of Bakhmut. The enemy suffers significant losses in personnel, weapons and equipment, moves subunits and troops and actively uses reserves.
Also, the Defense Forces continue to restrain the offensive of Russian troops in the Kupyansky, Limansky and Bakhmut directions. The enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive operations in the areas of Novoegorovka, Luhansk region and Vesele, Donetsk region. Difficult battles continue, summed up the General Staff.
