The recently implemented Ukrainian operations have helped reduce Russia’s ability to strike Ukraine with Kh-22 missiles. Budanov, in an interview with Radio Liberty, indicated that a total of 436 Russian aircraft are involved in air operations against Ukraine.
This is a lot. But if you ask how many of them are Tu-22s, then these will be units. They had about 31 serviceable Tu-22s left, now 29 – and minus two more of those that will be under repair, that is, 27. That is, there are not so many of those that really fly, ”said the head of the GUR.
According to him, during operations at the Russian military airfields Soltsy (Nizhny Novgorod region) and Shaikovka (Kaluga region), two aircraft were completely destroyed and two more were damaged.
Budanov also added that intelligence knows who destroyed and damaged enemy aircraft.
These are people who have completed certain tasks from the territory of the Russian Federation,” summed up the head of the GUR.
Recall that on August 21, an airfield in the Kaluga region was attacked by a drone. On August 19, drones attacked a military airfield in the Novgorod region of Russia, damaging at least one aircraft was reported. Later, the media reported that as a result of the drone attack on the airfield, Ukraine for the first time was able to completely destroy the strategic nuclear bomber of the Russian Armed Forces.
