This is a lot. But if you ask how many Tu-22s are among them, these are few. They had about 31 serviceable Tu-22s, now 29, minus two more that will be under repair, that is, 27. That is, there are not so many actually flying, – the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate said in an interview with Radio Liberty Kirill Budanov.
The head of intelligence in this conversation also gave details of the operation with the Russian helicopter that landed in the Kharkiv region.
They “found the right approach to the pilot, created conditions to take his entire family out unnoticed by everyone, and finally create such conditions so that he could overtake this vessel with a crew who did not know what was happening.” In addition to the pilot, there were two other people on board. When they realized where they had landed, they tried to hide.
Unfortunately, they were destroyed, I would like to take them alive, but we have what we have, and our pilot feels great, he is doing well, ”said Budanov.
Why the pilot decided to cooperate with Ukraine is unknown. Budanov considers this operation one of the best.
The Mi-8 helicopter is now in Kyiv, and no one is holding the pilot behind bars.
