The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Wednesday, August 23, adopted a bill on changing the administrative-territorial structure of Crimea. “For” voted 309 representatives. This was announced by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his Telegram channel.
Now the decisions adopted by the Rada in 2016-2020 will be implemented. about the decommunization of the names of settlements and the introduction of a new regional division of Crimea. These decisions are planned to be implemented after the de-occupation of Crimea.
The government will also be allowed to define the territories and administrative centers of territorial communities in Crimea without making long-term plans.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine must determine within one month the territories and administrative centers of territorial communities in Crimea, and within three months create district state administrations of new districts and submit to the parliament a bill on the details of the restoration of public authority in Crimea after its de-occupation.
The parliament also voted for a statement on the priority directions of the state policy of Ukraine in the field of de-occupation, reintegration and restoration of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.
“The International Crimean Platform should be a platform not only to promote the de-occupation of Crimea and restore the territorial integrity of Ukraine, but also to ensure security in the Azov-Black Sea region as a whole,” said of the statement.
