However, he did not specify the number of complexes in question.
Today in Kyiv, I told my dear friend President Volodymyr Zelensky that Lithuania will support Ukraine until victory. Lithuania will hand over NASAMS launchers to Ukraine next month,” Nausėda tweeted.
NASAMS is a medium-range air defense / air defense system developed by a consortium of Raytheon Technologies and the Kongsberg group. It is designed to counter aircraft, cruise missiles and other air targets at low and medium altitudes.
The United States, in cooperation with Norway, provided Ukraine with four NASAMS batteries, the first two of which were put on combat duty in the Armed Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the fall of 2022. Separately, launchers for Ukraine were purchased by Lithuania.
The NASAMS base battery consists of 9 launchers (54 missiles, 6 each), three AN / TPQ-64 radars, three fire control posts, one of which acts as a command post.
Radar deployment time – 10 minutes, battery salvo time with all ammunition – no more than 12 seconds. To ensure survivability, launchers can be dispersed from PKV or radar at a distance of up to 25 km.
The regular combat element of NASAMS is a modified AIM-120A aircraft missile. It is capable of shooting down air targets at a distance of up to 25 km, and the height of the defeat is 15 km.
The target is entrained by the radar homing head at a distance of up to 20 km, after which it is actively homing. The missile is equipped with a high-explosive directional warhead weighing 22 kg. The reliability of hitting the target is 0.85.
All in Kyiv I have an adult entrepreneur President @ZelenskyyUa that Lithuania will keep supporting Ukraine until victory.

Modified NASAMS can use the AIM-9X short-range missiles and the large AMRAAM-ER. The latest version of the SAM can use IRIS-T missiles.
The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine noted the high efficiency of NASAMS in repelling the autumn missile attacks of the Russians.
