China and South Africa have said they will continue to push for a political settlement of the war in Ukraine.
China and South Africa issued a joint statement saying the only way to resolve the military “conflict” in Ukraine is through negotiations. On Wednesday, August 23, Xinhua wrote.
The document states that South Africa and China support an international system centered on the UN, a fair international order based on international law governing relations between states, as well as respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
“Both sides agreed that dialogue and negotiations are the only viable options for resolving the conflict in Ukraine, and they will continue to promote peace talks and play a constructive role in a political settlement of the conflict, ” said the statement.
It should be remembered that recently the head of the office of the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance, Stian Jenssen, said that Ukraine could join NATO in exchange for the territories acquired by the Russian Federation.
In response, the Foreign Ministry called the talk about Ukraine joining NATO in exchange for giving up part of the territories completely unacceptable.
