The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to hold back the Russian invaders in the east and advance in the direction of Melitopol.
Over the past day, Russian troops launched two missiles and 43 air strikes, carried out 45 attacks from multiple rocket-launching systems on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and settlements. About 30 skirmishes took place on the front, the General Staff reported in the morning report on August 22.
It was noted that in the direction of Bakhmut, the enemy conducted offensive operations in the Klishchievka area of the Donetsk region, but unsuccessfully.
In the direction of Avdiivka, the Defense Forces continue to prevent the advance of Russian troops in the area of Avdiivka, and in the direction of Maryinsky, in the area of Maryinka and Novomikhailovka, Donetsk region.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the direction of Melitopol, consolidate the achieved lines, and carry out counter-battery measures.
Over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian aviation has delivered six strikes on areas where enemy personnel are concentrated.
Missile troops and artillery units hit four command posts, an area of concentration of personnel, weapons and military equipment, and three artillery in firing positions of the Russians.
Remember, on August 21, the Russian Federation lost 257,930 soldiers in Ukraine.
