This was reported in the Cabinet. On August 19, the government adopted the corresponding resolution No. 870.
The village of Gatnoe was chosen as the construction site – this is the third time the government has moved the location of the future memorial complex.
It was originally planned to be built on Lysaya Hora in Kyiv, but some citizens protested against this decision.
Later, the Cabinet of Ministers chose a new location – the Bykovnyansky Graves Reserve, but this idea was abandoned because the construction would take too long.
Gatnoe is a village in the Fastovsky district, near Chabany, Kryukovshchina and Zhuliany airport.
Two land plots with an area of 258.73 hectares and 7.96 hectares will be allocated for the construction of a cemetery in the village of Gatnoe.
The project coordinator is the Department of Veterans Affairs.
