The enemy creates a new military formation – the 18th Combined Arms Army. The formation is likely to be an amalgamation and strengthening of other units currently active in the Kherson region, including the 22nd Army Corps, which usually makes up the Russian garrison in the occupied Crimea. This was announced by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter.
The British note that the new Russian army is likely to be made up of mostly mobilized personnel and will focus on defense operations in southern Ukraine. It is possible that the enemy seeks to dismiss more experienced units for combat operations in key areas. This could have led to the fact that the Russian command recently redeployed airborne troops from Kherson to the Orekhovsky sector, where fierce fighting is taking place.
Recall that the Atesh partisan movement reported that the Russian invaders were preparing to carry out a large-scale mobilization of almost all age groups of the Crimean population. The enemy is also preparing mobilization in other temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
