On August 19, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky met with Prime Minister of Sweden Ulf Kristersson. The parties signed a statement of intent, and also detailed an agreement on the joint production of CV90 combat vehicles in Ukraine, localization of production, and repairs.
The statement of intent testifies to the desire of Ukraine and Sweden to strengthen cooperation in the production, operation, training of operators and maintenance of the CV90 platform.
During the meeting, politicians discussed the supply of Gripen fighter jets to the Ukrainian Air Force.
Testing of “flu” with the participation of Ukrainians – our pilots – has already begun,” Zelensky said.
In addition, Sweden is preparing to transfer to Ukraine the 13th package of military assistance with ammunition for air defense and combat vehicles, spare parts for armored vehicles, equipment for demining. It is likely that we are talking about a 270 million euro aid package approved by the Swedish parliament on August 17.
