Ukrainian soldiers will provide a “tangible response” to the Russian terrorist attack in Chernihiv. This was announced on Saturday, August 19, by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky.
He recalled that seven people died in Chernihiv from a Russian missile strike, including a 6-year-old girl Sofia.
“There were 144 injured and wounded, and among them 15 children. The rocket was right in the center of the city. And it was on the feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord, an Orthodox holiday. I’m sure our soldiers will respond to Russia for this terrorist attack, a specific response,” he said.
In his address, Zelensky mentioned the work of emergency and medical services in Chernihiv to eliminate the consequences of a Russian missile attack.
“Everyone helped. Thank you to everyone who saved the lives of children, adults – everyone,” Zelensky said in an evening address.
The President also added that leaders, representatives of states and international organizations condemned Russia’s attack on Chernihiv. Zelensky thanked everyone in the world who expressed their condolences to Ukraine.
Remember, on August 19, the Russians launched a missile attack on Chernihiv. Under enemy fire was a drama theater where an exhibition of drones was held.
According to the latest data, seven residents of Chernihiv died, another 140 were injured, 41 were hospitalized. The city declared three days of mourning.
