Telling Ukrainians that they just have to let their country be occupied has nothing to do with pacifism, the German leader is convinced.
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, in a speech in Munich, reacted sharply to attempts by adherents of the far-right AfD party to disrupt the rally. They, in particular, asked to stop aid to Ukraine, according to DPA and DW.
“Telling Ukrainians that they just have to let their country be occupied has nothing to do with pacifism. Those who take to the square as ‘doves of peace’ are actually ‘sinful angels from hell’ protecting the warmonger Vladimir Putin” Scholz said.
He called the fact that Germany, along with several other states, supports Ukraine against the imperialist attack correct.
“It also assumes that we are supplying weapons,” the chancellor added, stressing that at the same time, NATO states are doing everything to avoid direct escalation with Russia.
Scholz’s speech is related to the upcoming elections in the federal state of Bavaria, which will be held in six weeks. His Social Democratic Party has 9-11% support, which is mainly attributed to the failed policies of the federal government.

It should be remembered that Scholz has not yet decided on the issue of providing the German Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
