The enemy carried out offensive operations and tried to restore the lost position in the area of Urozhaynoye and Novodarovka, but it was unsuccessful.
Over the past day, Russian troops launched four missiles and 53 air strikes, carried out 40 attacks from multiple rocket-launching systems on positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and settlements. There were 33 battles on the front, the General Staff reported in the morning report on August 18.
In the Kupyansky direction, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive operations in the Sinkovka area of the Kharkov region, in the Limansky direction – in the Belogorovka area of the Luhansk region.
In the direction of Bakhmut, the invaders attacked the Bogdanovka and Belaya Gora areas of Donetsk region, in the direction of Avdievsky – in the settlement area of Keramik, Donetsk region, but unsuccessfully.
In the direction of Maryinka, the Defense Forces continue to prevent the advance of Russian troops in the areas of Maryinka and Krasnogorovka in the Donetsk region.
In the direction of Shakhtyorsk, the enemy made unsuccessful attempts to restore the lost position in the area of Urozhaynoye in the Donetsk region and Novodarovka in the Zaporozhye region.
At the same time, the Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an offensive operation in the directions of Melitopol and Berdyansk, consolidate the achieved lines, and carry out counter-battery measures.
Over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian aviation has carried out seven strikes on areas of concentration of enemy personnel, weapons and military equipment, two on anti-aircraft missile systems. Also, two enemy Ka-52 attack helicopters and four operational-tactical level reconnaissance UAVs were also destroyed.
Missile troops and artillery units hit four artillery guns in firing positions, two ammunition trains and an electronic warfare station of the Russians.
Recall that, on August 17, the Russian Federation lost 256,050 soldiers in Ukraine.
