Today, August 17, under the restriction of the Office of Foreign Assets Control of the US Department of the Treasury (OFAC) were four Russian FSB officers involved in the Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny. This was announced by the US Treasury Department.
According to U.S. Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for Counterterrorism and Financial Intelligence Brian E. Nelson, the United States thus decided to remind the Russian regime that there are consequences not only for unleashing a full-scale war against Ukraine, but also for violating the human rights of the Russian people. .
OFAC imposed sanctions on employees of the FSB Institute of Forensic Science Alexey Alexandrov and Ivan Osipov and operatives of this department Konstantin Kudryavtsev and Vladimir Panyaev. The United States believes that these individuals were involved in the poisoning of Navalny because they acted as Russian government agents.
The Americans believe that the Russian FSB used the Novichok nerve agent to poison Navalny.
Recall that on August 11, the US Treasury Department added Mikhail Fridman, Petr Aven, German Khan and Alexei Kuzmichev to the sanctions list of four Russian billionaires – the founders of Alfa Group.
