A team of engineers from a Russian industrial city was secretly ordered to build a production line that would run around the clock, producing kamikaze drones. The FSB of Russia was responsible for the security of the program, and passports were confiscated from highly qualified workers of the plant so that they could not leave the country. The American edition of The Washington Post writes about this, citing a leak of Russian secret documents.
In correspondence, the UAV developers used encrypted words. So, drones were called “boats”, their explosives were called “bumpers”, and Iran was called “Ireland” or “Belarus”.
It is also reported that the Russian agreement with Iran on the sale of weapons worth a billion dollars was concluded in November 500 miles east of Moscow in Tatarstan. The agreement with Tehran assumes that Russia plans to create 6,000 drones by the summer of 2025. Moscow believes that this will be enough to overcome the lack of UAVs.
Recall that in June it became known that in the Alabuga special economic zone, hundreds of kilometers east of Moscow, they began to build a plant for the production of Iranian Shahed-type kamikaze drones.
British intelligence believes that Russia wants to switch to full-fledged domestic production of kamikaze drones in the coming months, but Russia depends on components from Iran.
