The attacker worked for money for the main directorate of the General Staff from the Russian Federation. For them, he established the geolocation of the units of the Defense Forces on the territory of the capital region. Also, the defendant “leaked” to the occupiers information about electrical substations in Kyiv.
The invaders needed intelligence information to prepare a new series of targeted Russian air strikes against Kyiv and nearby settlements.
While the attacker is in custody, he faces a life sentence.
Employees of the Security Service detained the attacker “red-handed” when he was filming the military base of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and “tying” its GPS coordinates to an electronic map.
According to the investigation, the defendant is a 23-year-old resident of Odessa, who moved to Kyiv in search of “quick money”. To do this, he left his own “resume” on specialized Internet platforms for finding auxiliary work.
Thus, he was approached by Russian military intelligence, which, for money, attracted him to cooperate in favor of the aggressor country.
