The spokesman of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine emphasized that Ukrainian pilots will only learn on these aircraft, so it is necessary to strengthen the air defense.
Ukraine will not receive F-16 fighters from allies in the coming autumn-winter. In this regard, it is necessary to strengthen air defense. This is what the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, said on the air of the news telethon on Wednesday, August 16.
“It is already clear that we will not be able to defend Ukraine with F-16s this fall and winter,” he said.
The representative of the PS of the Armed Forces of Ukraine added that there are high hopes for these aircraft: they can be part of the air defense and help defend against Russian missile attacks.
“But, anyway, the issue has progressed. We understand that our pilots will learn in the near future. But at the same time, it is necessary to strengthen our air defense,” concluded Ignat.
Recall that Yuriy Ignat previously said that during the missile attack on August 15, Russian troops used the tactic of changing the direction of movement of air targets to destroy objects on the territory of Ukraine as long as can.
In addition, according to Yuriy Ignat, the Russian aggressors during the missile attack on August 11 tried to destroy the young Ukrainian pilot students in the F-16 fighters.
