The brigade chief of staff of the National Guard unfoundedly signed reports about accruing “combat” bonuses to his subordinates.
Law enforcement in the National Guard has exposed a “scheme” of unfairly accumulating bonuses allegedly for participating in front line battles. This was reported by the SBU on Tuesday, August 15.
It was indicated that the command of one of the brigades of a military formation, deployed in the Kyiv region, was exposed to state currency transactions. From the beginning of the war, the defendants illegally gave themselves bonuses of about 14 million hryvnias.
“The officers unjustifiably accrued to themselves and their subordinates a monthly surcharge in the amount of UAH 100,000, which is given for direct participation in the battles against the Russian invaders. At the same time, the participants in the criminal method was not in the conflict areas and did not carry out any tasks on the front line”, said the message.
According to the investigation, the deputy commander, the chief of staff of the military unit, was involved in the deal. He was the one who unfoundedly signed reports about accumulating “combat” bonuses to his subordinates, especially the leadership. Their faces were also established – the division commander, the commander of the 3rd battalion, the head of the personnel accounting department, the deputy commander of the 1st battalion and the company commander.
All the defendants were reported on suspicion under the article on negligent attitude to military service (part 4 of article 425 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). They face up to 8 years in prison. Currently, the issue of choosing a measure of restraint has been decided.
Earlier, the unjust assets worth UAH 7.1 million were found in the SBI official. SAP applied to the court with a claim to recover the difference between the acquired property and legal income.
