The head of state visited the headquarters of the brigades conducting offensive operations in the zone of responsibility of the Soledar operational-tactical group. In particular, these are the command posts of the 5th separate assault brigade, the 22nd separate mechanized brigade, the 80th separate airborne assault brigade, the 57th separate motorized infantry brigade named after Kosh ataman Kostya Gordienko, the 92nd separate Sera, the 26th Artillery Brigade named after General Cornet Roman Dashkevich, 3rd Separate Assault Brigade and 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Daniel. This was reported in the office of the President.
The Supreme Commander-in-Chief heard reports on the operational situation in the brigades’ areas of responsibility and the specifics of the use of different types of weapons. Zelensky discussed with the brigade commanders the problematic issues faced by the soldiers of the defense forces. The military said that they needed weapons, ammunition and equipment, including front-line air defense systems and various types of drones.
Zelensky discussed the situation in the brigade’s area of responsibility, the training of defenders, the need for weapons and equipment, and problematic issues with the commander of the 5th Specialized Brigade of the Khortytsya operational-strategic group of troops.
The Ukrainian leader also expressed gratitude to the 80th separate airborne assault brigade.
Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the brigade has been performing combat missions as part of the OSUO “Alexandria” in the Nikolaev direction, the OSUO “Khortitsa” in the Izyum, Kupyansky, Bakhmut, Severodonetsk directions. Recall that on July 30, President of Ukraine Volodymyr visited the Center for Physical and Rehabilitation Medicine in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, where wounded Ukrainian servicemen are being treated. The head of state presented state awards to the defenders.
