The attackers sell fake birth certificates to their clients, the National Police notes.
Law enforcement has exposed a group of people who set up a “scheme” to evade the mobilization and illegal transfer of military-age men across the state border. Malefactors provided fabricated birth certificates of children to “clients”. This was reported by the National Police of Ukraine on Monday, August 14.
Law enforcement explained that any man who, according to the documents, raised three minor children, was free to leave the country. The attackers gave the “parents” detailed instructions on how to behave and correctly answer questions while talking to border guards. This service costs about 10 thousand dollars.
“Law enforcement officers detained one of the attackers when he received part of the agreed amount,” the National Police said.
Investigators of the Department for the Organization of Investigation of Crimes Committed in Conditions of Armed Conflict, the Main Directorate of Investigation of the National Police expressed suspicion on a 38-year-old resident of Kiev. He was accused of committing a crime under the article Facilitating the illegal movement of people across the state border of Ukraine by providing funds, advice and instructions for mercenary motives (part 3 of article 332 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
Malefactors now face imprisonment for seven to nine years with the denial of the right to hold certain positions with confiscation of assets.
As we have already written, border guards exposed the next attempts of illegal border crossing by men of military age.
