Organizers have been calling for the legalization of drugs like marijuana and hashish, derived from the hemp plant, for years.
Supporters of the legalization of cannabis consumption marched in Berlin on Saturday during the traditional cannabis parade, according to DPA.
According to the police, after the rally at the city hall, around 500-600 participants marched through the city.
Organizers have been calling for the legalization of drugs like marijuana and hashish, derived from the hemp plant, for years. They also advocate for easier access to medical cannabis and for the widespread use of cannabis.
The hemp parade has been held since 1997. Last year around 1500 people took part in it. This year’s slogan is: “Hemp is good for the world and the climate.”
The German government plans to legalize cannabis. Under the plans currently known, adults will be allowed to store up to 25 grams of cannabis and grow a maximum of three plants for personal use.
Cannabis will not be sold in regular stores. Instead, it will be allowed to grow and distribute cannabis in so-called cannabis clubs.
Karl Lauterbach, Germany’s health minister, expected the government to consider his proposal next week, but on Saturday the German Association of Judges (DRB) came out again to criticize the law.
“A very small law will lead to a high level of government scrutiny, many new disputes and many lawsuits,” said DRB national director Sven Reben. The black market for these drugs will not be reduced by the current proposed law, he said.
Remember that there is still no unanimity among Ukrainians on the legalization of cannabis for medical purposes among Ukrainians.
