An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 was recorded in the east of Turkey, more than 20 people were injured as a result of aftershocks. It was reported on August 10 by Anadolu agency.
It was noted that the center of the disaster was Eshilyurt district in the city of Malatya.
According to the Turkish Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), the earthquake struck on Thursday night at a depth of 7 kilometers. Many citizens took to the streets because of the tremors.
Interior Minister Ali Erlikay said 22 people were slightly injured.
“At this moment, we have no casualties. 22 of our citizens were slightly injured due to fear, panic and jumping from a height,” he said.
According to Turkish Health Minister Fahrettin Koca, another person was injured in Adiyaman.
