Members of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted a final declaration identifying Russia as a sponsor of terrorism.
The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on Tuesday, July 4, recognized Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism, and PMCs. Wagner – a terrorist organization. This was announced by a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the OSCE PA, Deputy Chairman of the faction public servant in VR Evgenia Kravchuk.
According to him, the members of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly adopted a final declaration, stating that terrorism poses one of the greatest threats to international peace and security, and the actions of PMCs Wagner on behalf of the Russian government can be identified as a terrorist. It is noted that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has personally acknowledged the Group Wagner is “fully funded” by the Russian Federation.
The declaration also states that OSCE member states must take action against PMCs Wagnerits affiliates and successor structures, including declaring them a terrorist organization.
As Kravchuk noted, the OSCE PA calls on member states to strengthen international norms that clearly recognize: the terrorist nature of the Group Wagner and his actions; the responsibility of the Russian Federation as a state-sponsor of this terrorist organization; the unacceptable involvement of such subjects in interstate relations.
He emphasized that such a statement was for the first time contained in an official document of an international organization.
“The similar term “state sponsor of terrorism” is also known in the law of the United States, which is also a member of the OSCE. I hope that this decision will be a catalyst for recognizing the aggressor state as a sponsor of terrorism not only in the United States, but all over the world,” said a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the OSCE PA.
