In June, training on the F-16 was supposed to begin, but this, despite promises, did not happen. Now “the schedule is starting to shift.”

This was stated on the air of the telethon by Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba.
There was a promise to start training in June from one of the countries, now they say that they continue to prepare for the start of training, that they also made a mistake in the calculations, they need a little more time. But we don’t have time, so we accelerate everything as much as possible,” the minister explained.
He thinks that there is no “political delay” in this, but the process itself is complex, because it is, in particular, about training, preparing infrastructure and deciding on the transfer of aircraft.
Therefore, the terms for the transfer of these combat aircraft to Ukraine will probably be shifted.
I proceeded from the fact that training should have begun in June, as we were originally promised. Pilot training did not start in June. This means that the training schedule is starting to shift, Kuleba said.
He also noted that he was previously confident that Ukraine would already receive combat aircraft in the first months of 2024.
We are now working with all parties involved, with all countries participating in aviation coalitions, in order to speed up the process as much as possible,” the Foreign Minister added.
Kuleba mentioned that “there was a promise to start training in June from one of the countries.” Now they say in it that they continue to prepare for the start of their studies, they made a mistake in the calculations, they need more time.
But we don’t have time, so we are speeding up everything as much as possible, summed up the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
In June, the United States received a request from Denmark to train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighter jets, Militarny reported.
The US will also work closely with allies to implement this training and will support the Netherlands and Denmark leading a European coalition to train Ukrainian pilots in Western warplanes.
Earlier, a representative of the US State Department said that the potential transfer of F-16 fighters to Ukraine with the participation of third countries could take several months. The United States does not yet plan to transfer F-16 combat aircraft to Ukraine, but supports their supply from other countries. The State Department is already working on the execution of the relevant documents necessary for such a transfer.
