The SBU and the DBR submitted to the court an indictment for the crimes of Oleg Kulinich, an ex-member of the Main Directorate of the SBU in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

    .

He is charged under five articles of the Criminal Code, in particular: in five episodes of spying for Russia, illegal possession of weapons, theft, leadership of a criminal group and illegal departure from a military unit.

Kulinich was detained in July 2022. According to the investigation, he collaborated with the FSB and received the operational pseudonym Kotigoroshko. Kulynych’s curators were the former deputy secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Volodymyr Sivkovich and the former head of the Presidential Administration of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev.

Even before the start of the invasion, Kulinich was spying and arranging “his people” in law enforcement agencies.

He faces up to 15 years in prison.

When Kulinich studied at the Academy of the FSB of Russia and did military service in the Federal Counterintelligence Service. It is believed that he continued to cooperate with the Russian special services.

We have done everything possible not only to detain a high-ranking traitor, but also to collect a strong evidence base, on the basis of which the court will be able to make its verdict, – said the head of the SBU of Ukraine Vasily Malyuk. “This is a clear signal to all who work for the enemy. The SBU will surely find you and make you answer for your actions, no matter where you hide. We will pull every mole out into the light.

Kulinich was arrested in July last year. Then it was assumed that he could be involved in the rapid capture of the Kherson region by the Russian military advancing from the Crimea, since, as is suspected, with his assistance, a map of minefields and coordinates of defense objects fell into the hands of the Russian military.

Kulynych was detained on July 16, 2022 during a special operation by the DBR and the Security Service of Ukraine. Since then, he has been in custody.
