Ukraine has made a sharp diplomatic move towards Georgia after photos of Saakashvili looking unrecognizably thin emerged.
Ukraine will move to a very difficult form of diplomacy by asking the ambassador of Georgia to leave Ukraine. On Monday, July 3, Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba said this on the air of the telethon, explaining the corresponding instructions of President Volodymyr Zelensky.
According to Kuleba, after new photos of Saakashvili appeared, everything reached a boiling point, so Ukraine took a sharp but fair step.
“You know, when a state is not satisfied with something, the first level of reaction is to express a protest. The second level of reaction is to recall your ambassador for consultations. And the third level of reaction, several orders of magnitude higher in severity. , is to ask the ambassador of this country to leave Ukraine for consultations with their government. Diplomatically, this is a very difficult form, but the Georgian authorities deserve here,” added the minister.
He said that tomorrow, July 4, in the morning the Georgian ambassador will be at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and they will talk to him.
As Kuleba noted, a Georgian diplomat should consult with his government about where the country is going and why it is damaging relations with Ukraine.
“We believe that they (Georgian authorities – ed.) should stop mocking Saakashvili and return him to us, because he is a citizen of Ukraine,” added the minister.
At the same time, Kuleba emphasized that the Georgian authorities want to bring Saakashvili to death and this desire is based “only on personal anger and revenge.”
Recall that now the imprisoned former president of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili for the first time since February took part in the court session via video broadcast from the clinic. He appeared in an extremely emaciated state. After that, Zelensky ordered the Foreign Ministry to call the Georgian ambassador and protest him and offer to leave Ukraine.
