Since July 2022, 139 thousand citizens have been evacuated from the combat zones in the territories controlled by Ukraine in Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kherson regions. This was announced on July 3 by the British Ministry of Defense on Twitter, citing statements by the Ukrainian authorities.
With a pre-war population of 44 million, a quarter of Ukrainians are still forced to leave their homes as a result of the Russian invasion, the British say.
At the same time, it is noted that this is only a part of internally displaced persons in Ukraine. The United Nations stated that 6.3 million Ukrainians remain refugees and more than 5 million internally displaced persons.
Recall that in May a chatbot was launched in Ukraine, designed to help internally displaced people integrate into host communities. It can help you find accommodation in a new region and find out how and where to get help.
