In Canada, the owner of the country’s first store that openly sold heroin, cocaine, methamphetamine and MDMA (ecstasy) died of an overdose.
Jerry Martin, 51, opened a shop in Vancouver because he wanted to give people access to “clean drugs” and broke Canada’s hazardous substance laws, according to VICE News.
A few days ago, Martin was hospitalized for a suspected overdose of fentanyl (a synthetic opioid), and on June 30, the man died – the family decided to take him off life support.

In May, Martin opened The Drugs Store, the first store in Canada and the United States to openly sell drugs that have been tested free of fentanyl and other contaminants.
The man was arrested 24 hours after opening a store in Vancouver’s Eastside, the “overdose epicenter.”
“I give them addictive drugs, but I give them safer substances than the ones you can buy on the street, where fentanyl or other drugs can be mixed in,” Martin said.
Jerry Martin’s partner, Christa Thomas, said the man wanted to save people’s lives.
It can be remembered that in the port of Rotterdam (Netherlands), the police found the largest shipment of cocaine since the beginning of the year. About 3.6 tons of drugs were hidden between fruit juices and bananas.
