People’s representative from the European Solidarity Party Sergei Alekseev promised the foreigner his help to avoid extradition for 50 thousand dollars. This was reported by the SBU press service on Friday, June 30.
“The SBU together with the SBI documented the criminal actions of one of the current people’s representatives of Ukraine, who demanded money from a citizen of one of the European countries. For $50,000, the people’s representative promised to his foreign aid in avoiding extradition,” the report said.
The deputy “guarantees” that he will use his own court connections to cancel the decision of the State Migration Service of Ukraine to refuse to grant refugee status to a foreigner.
According to the investigation, a receipt of 30 thousand dollars was recorded. Previously, the representative of the people received another 20 thousand dollars.
The deputy, the head of the subcommittee in the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement Affairs, was informed of a suspicion of fraud committed on a particularly large scale.
The issue of choosing a measure of restraint is decided. The sanction of the article provides a penalty of up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.
Meanwhile, the European Solidarity party called the searches of people’s representative Alekseev “a continuation of provocations and pressure” on representatives of political forces.
“Tonight, in the best traditions of the NKVDist troikas, officers of the SBI and SBU conducted searches of the People’s Deputy Sergei Alekseev, which took place without a court order, with vague explanations about urgent need to carry out investigative actions. During the search, passports, phones and money were confiscated,” – according to a message on the website of the political force.
Eurosolidarity considers these actions as “a continuation of political provocations aimed at discrediting the political force and intimidating its representatives and obstructing the activities of the people’s representatives,” the party insisted.
It was previously reported that the People’s Deputy was informed about the suspicion of fraud. The representative, by deception, took the money of a German citizen in the amount of 50 thousand dollars.
