Ukraine is fully ready to start negotiations on joining the European Union, the head of state noted.
This year is the time to strengthen European unity – in particular, the start of negotiations on Ukraine’s membership in the European Union. This was said by President Volodymyr Zelensky in his evening speech on June 29.
“Ukraine influences the strength of Europe – this is a fact. And this year it is time to strengthen European unity on the basis of this and other similar facts – in particular, by starting negotiations on becoming Ukraine’s membership in the European Union,” the head of state said.
Zelensky noted that today was a busy day, which ended with his meeting with the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk.
On that day, the President met with American politician Mike Pence and a conversation with the President of Guatemala, a meeting with eco-activists and Ukrainian business representatives, and participation in the Chatham House 2022 award ceremony.
“I am grateful to everyone who works for Ukraine, Ukrainians, who maintain and create new jobs, who pay taxes and are preparing for our recovery – for a large-scale transformation program for Ukraine, which we will implement after our victory.”
And of course, our warriors, our defense. I thank everyone who defends our state! Thanks to everyone who is now in the battle, who gave us the best news today – about the advancement of Ukrainian positions. Glory to you, our heroes! Thanks to everyone in the world who really helped us!” Zelensky said.
It can be recalled that in a meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence, the head of state noted the importance of early training of Ukrainian pilots and the provision of F-16 combat aircraft to Ukraine.
