Polish President Andrzej Duda spoke about this at a press conference in Kyiv. Duda and his Lithuanian colleague Nauseda spent June 28 in Ukraine.
Ukraine and the EU must return regular trade without the previously introduced restrictions, Duda said.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expects the European Union to lift restrictions on imports of Ukrainian agricultural products from September 15. The head of state said this during a conversation with media representatives following negotiations with the presidents of Poland and Lithuania.
Recall that in early June, the European Commission extended the EU ban on grain imports from Ukraine to Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria until mid-September.
This decision is needed to reduce the oversupply of agricultural products in countries that have announced losses in the domestic market due to the deposition of cheaper Ukrainian grain on it.
Even last year, it was obvious that, despite the global rise in wheat prices and food risks for a number of countries, half of Ukrainian grain, which is so difficult to export from the country, is exported at an inadequate discount.
Cheap Ukrainian grain, finding itself on the European market, significantly reduced the income of local producers, they are simply not able to compete either in price or in quantity with Ukrainian grain.
Meanwhile, following grain and strawberries, Polish farmers are protesting against Ukrainian raspberries. In the Lubelskie Voivodeship, they went to a protest action demanding a ban on the import of Ukrainian berries.
