The Lithuanian government imposed such a restriction for a year, because it had information that these goods could be used in the war against Ukraine.
The Lithuanian government on Wednesday, June 28, at a meeting approved a temporary ban on the transportation through the territory of the country and the export from it of 57 groups of dual-use goods. This was reported by the Baltic agency BNS.
The proposal mainly affects the transport of microelectronics and semiconductor components from the approved national list of dual-use controlled goods.
Economy and Innovation Minister Aušrine Armonaitė said Lithuania is “restricting the movement of certain dual-use or potentially dual-use goods through its territory for at least one year.”
He explained that the Lithuanian authorities had information that such goods could be used in the war against Ukraine.
“We do not want to allow our territory to be used for these purposes, and therefore we introduce such restrictions,” Armonaite added.
Remember, Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda said that Ukraine will receive two launch systems for the NASAMS anti-aircraft missile system from Lithuania.
As reported, the total military, humanitarian and financial aid from Lithuania to Ukraine reached 1 billion euros, which is 1.42% of GDP for 2022.
