The President of Russia Vladimir Putin on Monday, June 26, held a meeting with the participation of the heads of law enforcement agencies, where they discussed the actions of the security forces to “suppress” the rebellion of PMC Wagner, according to Russian media.
“I have gathered you to thank you for the work done in the past few days, as well as to discuss the current situation and discuss the tasks faced as a result of the analysis of the events that took place in the country,” Putin said.
At the meeting, for the first time since the uprising, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu appeared in public.
In addition to him, the meeting was attended, in particular, by the Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Minister of Internal Affairs Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, Director of the Federal Service of the National Guard Troops Viktor Zolotov, Director of the Federal Security Service Dmitry Kochnev and head of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin.
Recall that before that, Putin made a televised statement in which he said that most of the Wagner PMC militants were “patriots of the motherland”, they were used “in the dark.”
