After the liberation of the city, the attacker tried to “go down” and thus avoid justice.
The Security Service, together with the State Bureau of Investigation and the State Border Service, exposed another collaborator as a result of stabilization measures in liberated Kherson. The SBU reported this on June 26.
It turned out to be a local border guard who, during the temporary occupation of the city, willingly agreed to cooperate with the Russian invaders. For this, in July 2022, he was appointed “detective officer of the operation department” in “Northern Correctional Colony No. 90” which was captured by the occupiers at that time.
In this position, he participated in repression against local residents to suppress the resistance movement in the region.
After the release of Kherson, the attacker tried to “go down” and thus avoid justice. However, SBU and DBR officers found him and detained him.
The defendant was reported on suspicion of collaborative activities. The issue of choosing a measure of restraint in the form of detention is being decided.
The investigation is ongoing to determine all the circumstances of the crime. The perpetrator faces up to 15 years in prison.
We will remind, the SBU previously identified three henchmen of the Russians who created torture during the temporary occupation of a part of the Nikolaev area.
