Rostov-on-Don is captured by Wagner fighters. On the morning of June 24, the center of the city was occupied by armed men, apparently subordinate to Yevgeny Prigogine.
The local edition 161.ru reports that they cordoned off the headquarters of the Southern Military District, the city administration, the department of the FSB and the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The PIK leader himself announced that his people had taken control of all military installations in the city, in particular the airfield. There are tanks on the streets.
The governor of the Rostov region asked the residents of Rostov-on-Don “to refrain from traveling to the city center and, if possible, not to leave their homes.”
A video appeared on the Colonelcassad telegram channel (run by propagandist Boris Rozhin, who is affiliated with the Wagner PKK), in which Prigozhin is allegedly talking to the Deputy Minister of Defense at the headquarters of the Southern Military District in Rostov-on-Don. Bek Yevkurov and Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Federation Vladimir Alekseev.
We have arrived here. We want to get the Chief of the General Staff and Shoigu. While they are gone, we are here, blocking the city of Rostov and going to Moscow,” says Prigogine.
To Prigozhin’s comment that he wants to “get the Chief of the General Staff [валерія герасимова] Yes [міністра оборони шойгу» алексєєв з усмішкою відповідає: «Забирайте».
За кілька годин до цього генерал-лейтенант армії Володимир Алексєєв записав відео, в якому назвав дії Пригожина «ударом у спину президенту» та «спробою держперевороту»,
а також закликав бійців ПВК Вагнера «одуматися».
Таке саме відео записав генерал сергій суровікін, який командував угрупуванням російських військ в Україні з початку жовтня 2022-го до початку січня 2023-го. Де зараз
знаходиться суровікін, невідомо.
Уряд Воронезької області повідомив, що федеральною трасою М-4 «Дон» до Воронежа рухається колона військової техніки. Жителів регіону попросили не скористатися трасою. Про яку саме
військову техніку йдеться і кому належить ця колона, у повідомленні не уточнюється.
