Colonel Sergey Postovalov died on June 10 in one of the buildings of the recreation center on the Arabat Spit as a result of an attack on the recreation center.
Russia has officially confirmed the death of its commander. Messages about the funeral, which took place on June 21, were published in the Telegram channel of the police of the Voronezh region of the Russian Federation.
In peacetime, Postovalov worked as deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Voronezh region, where he headed the public order department, the regional traffic police, the escort service and the expert center. In the fall of 2022, Postovalov was sent to the Kherson region occupied by the Muscovites, where he was appointed deputy head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the 7×7 Telegram channel, 53-year-old Sergei Postovalov came under fire on June 10. The colonel was in one of the buildings of the recreation center on the Arabat Spit in the Genichesk district during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Industry and Trade of Russia Denis Manturov.
Propaganda with RIA Novosti wrote about the shelling of the boarding house with Storm Shadow rockets and one dead person.
As it turned out later, the blow was struck at the Chalet Thermal beach resort in the village of Schastlivtsevo on the Arabat Spit, which caused a big fire.
The Russian propaganda Telegram channel “Rybar” called the attack “a continuation of attacks on civilian objects”, and the boarding house was allegedly “a temporary accommodation point for residents evacuated from the flood zone.”
But as it turns out, this is a lie. There were not civilians in the boarding house, but soldiers.
According to the source of “7 × 7”, among them was Postovalov, whose funeral was to take place after the identification of the remains.

The building of the boarding house is part of the complex of the unfinished rehabilitation clinic of Professor Vladimir Kazyavkin, which in the fall of 2022 was occupied for the needs of the Russian army after the retreat of the Russian army from Kherson and the announcement of Genichesk as the “temporary capital” of the Kherson region. This complex is the new “government quarter”.
As local residents told the Center for Journalistic Investigations, two buildings occupied by officials from Russia and local collaborators caught fire from the impact. The total number of victims is unknown.
